Synechron is seeking a highly experienced Senior QA Engineer to drive quality assurance initiatives by developing innovative testing solutions that ensure system robustness and client satisfaction. The role involves leading both manual and automation testing efforts for complex trading and financial systems with a focus on front-office and clearing processes. As a QA Lead, you will oversee test planning, strategy, and execution, while guiding the QA team through release cycles and ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards. - Lead the planning, design, and execution of automated and manual testing strategies for complex financial systems, primarily within trading lifecycle and front-office modules.
- Lead and mentor the QA team through all phases of the release cycle, ensuring timely and quality deliverables.
- Work in Agile environments, managing sprint planning, review, and release sign-off activities.
- Define, implement, and enforce testing standards, frameworks, and best practices.
- Develop and maintain automation frameworks using Selenium and Java, ensuring high test coverage and efficient execution.
- Oversee defect management, reporting, and collaboration with development teams for swift resolution.
- Conduct reviews of test cases, scripts, and results; ensure comprehensive test documentation.
- Monitor testing progress through metrics and reporting; ensure adherence to project timelines and quality KPIs.
- Lead the team in root cause analysis for defects and process improvements.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure alignment on quality objectives and deliverables.
Programming Languages:
- Essential: Java (for automation scripting, framework development)
- Preferred: Python, JavaScript for ancillary automation tasks
Testing & Automation Tools:
- Essential: Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, Maven
- Preferred: API testing tools (Postman, REST-assured)
Frameworks & Libraries:
- Essential: Selenium with Java, BDD frameworks (Cucumber or similar)
Development & CI/CD:
- Essential: Jenkins or similar CI tools
- Preferred: Docker, Kubernetes
Testing Methodologies & Practices:
- Strong knowledge of manual and automated testing best practices
- Experience in testing complex trading, clearing, and front-office systems
Databases & Data Management:
- Basic understanding of SQL for validation and test data analysis
Other Skills:
- Agile/Scrum familiarity
- Test planning, documentation, and reporting
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in QA/testing roles, with at least 3+ years in a lead or managerial position
- Extensive domain knowledge in trading lifecycle, clearing, and front-office processes
- Proven experience designing, developing, and executing automation frameworks using Selenium and Java
- Strong background in manual testing for complex financial systems
- Experience leading QA teams through multiple release cycles in Agile environments
- Industry experience in finance/trading is highly preferred; alternative experience in critical enterprise systems will be considered
- Drive test planning, case design, automation script development, and execution for trading and financial applications
- Lead daily stand-ups, review meetings, and retrospectives within the QA team
- Coordinate with development, business, and product teams to clarify requirements and testing scope
- Manage defect tracking, reporting, and retesting, ensuring quality standards are met before release
- Monitor ongoing testing progress, update stakeholders, and escalate issues as necessary
- Maintain, enhance, and innovate automation frameworks and testing methodologies
- Conduct training sessions or knowledge sharing workshops to improve team capabilities
- Review test outcomes, perform root cause analysis, and recommend process improvements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
- Certifications such as ISTQB or equivalent QA certifications (preferred)
- Proven experience in automation testing with Selenium and Java
- Strong understanding of financial trading, clearing, and front-office processes
