Senior QA Engineer responsible for manual and automated testing of web, mobile, API, and database applications. Key Responsibilities
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior QA Engineer to join our Agile product development team. The ideal candidate will ensure high-quality software delivery through strong manual testing, automation, API validation, and end-to-end testing practices.
This role requires a balance of hands-on manual testing expertise and automation capabilities, along with strong collaboration across cross-functional teams. You will play a key role in identifying quality risks early and driving continuous improvements in testing processes.
- Understand business and technical requirements and convert them into detailed test scenarios and test cases.
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web, mobile, and API-based applications.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, system, smoke, and sanity testing.
- Validate end-to-end workflows across UI, API, and database layers.
- Conduct UI testing to ensure functionality, usability, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Perform API testing using tools like Postman or Swagger (validate requests, responses, status codes, and data integrity).
- Execute database testing using SQL queries to validate data accuracy and backend processing.
- Identify, log, track, and verify defects using tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps.
- Collaborate closely with Developers, Product Owners, and Business teams to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
- Participate in test planning, execution, reporting, and release sign-off activities.
- Support UAT activities and coordinate with stakeholders for validation and issue resolution.
- Develop and maintain automation frameworks and test scripts (UI/API).
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
- Analyze test results and communicate quality metrics to stakeholders.
- Mentor junior QA team members and contribute to QA process improvements.
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Standups, Reviews, and Retrospectives.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Required Skills and Experience:
- 7–8 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Testing.
- Strong expertise in Manual Testing methodologies and processes.
- Hands-on experience in:
- API Testing (Postman, Swagger, REST APIs)
- UI/Web Testing
- SQL/Database Testing (complex queries, joins, validations)
- Experience in test automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of BDD/TDD tools like Cucumber, SpecFlow, or Gherkin.
- Experience in building and maintaining test automation frameworks.
- Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC.
- Experience working with microservices and backend systems.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, JIRA, or similar tools.
- Experience in defect tracking, test management, and reporting.
- Experience in cross-browser and cross-platform testing.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud platforms (preferably Microsoft Azure).
- Exposure to performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or k6.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience in containerized environments.
- Relevant certifications such as ISTQB or Agile Testing certifications
Agile Methodology:
- Strong experience working in Agile development environments.
- Hands-on exposure to Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and XP methodologies.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, and continuously evolving environment.
