Job Responsibilities:
- Mainframe Application Development, Maintenance and Support:
- Design, develop, test, and implement mainframe applications.
- Maintain and enhance existing mainframe applications to improve functionality and performance.
- Debug and resolve technical Production issues in a timely manner.
- Mainframe Application Transformation:
- Prior experience of working on DevOps on Z Implementation, Cobol Upgrades, Dev and Test Offloading, Rehosting of Mainframe to Cloud is preferred
- Project Management:
- Lead and manage projects related to mainframe application development and maintenance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- System Analysis and Design:
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Design system architecture and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Quality Assurance:
- Develop and execute test plans to ensure software quality.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
- Client Interaction:
- Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide technical solutions.
- Prepare and present reports on project status and performance to stakeholders.
- Documentation:
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all developed applications and systems.
- Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Extensive experience in mainframe application development and management.
- Proven track record of leading and managing software development projects.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in mainframe technologies such as COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM.
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
- Experience with version control systems and software development tools.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Certifications:
- Relevant certifications in mainframe technologies or project management may be preferred.
Additional Considerations:
- Familiarity with modern software development practices, such as Agile or DevOps, can be beneficial.
- Experience in managed services or working in a client-facing role may be advantageous.
