About the role
Software Engineers at Mastercard design and code a variety of applications covering transaction processing, analytics, user interfaces, and APIs using a blend of cutting-edge technologies across big data, distributed systems, machine learning, and more. As a Software Engineer, you will deliver these products and solutions with speed and agility as part of a small team. This will involve developing high-performing, highly scalable software solutions and products for some of the world’s top brands. Specific tasks vary depending on the project and the business unit that you join in.

As a Senior Software Engineer at Mastercard, you are expected to perform the following general responsibilities:
• Own complex problems with dependency across services and facilitate cross-functional team interactions to drive resolution
• Drive prioritization decisions and trade-offs in working with product partners
• Automate and simplify all aspects of software delivery and development
• Introduce new technologies and architecture by following enterprise guidelines
• Provide development and architecture guidance to team members
Role
• Developing high quality, secure, scalable software solutions based on technical/functional requirements specifications and design artifacts within expected time and budget
• Debugging applications behavior using appropiate debugger.
• Creating technical documentation, user guides, software development guidelines
• Creating unit and integration tests scripts & tools
• Code reviewing and refactoring
All About You
The ideal candidate for this position should:
• A record of successful delivery of software applications as an individual.
• Development experience in mainframe using Cobol, JCL,PROC,DB2,VSAM
• In depth knowledge on product development
• Knowledge of tools like – Endevor, File Aid, Expeditor.
• Solid grasp on relational database – DB2
• Excellent communicator and collaborator
• Problem solver and solution-seeking approach
• Good to have – Knowldege on Banking/ Payments Domain.
• Good to have – Java Knowldege.
• Understands the full SDLC. Experience with modern software development methodologies (Agile, Kanban, XP, etc.)
