What You'll Do
As a Senior Software Engineer at Morningstar, you will:

• Work in an international, crossfunctional product team delivering highimpact experiences that provide Australia's investors with research, tools, and editorial content they rely on.

• Lead engineering initiatives aimed at modernising our technology stack-refactoring legacy Java and C# applications into modern, cloudnative architectures using current frameworks and best practices.

• Build performant, secure, and elegant APIs using Node.js and modern JavaScript/TypeScript tooling.

• Apply the latest AIenhanced development tools to improve developer productivity, code quality, and speed of delivery.

• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to craft usercentric solutions aligned with our mission of "Building Software Users Love."

• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, backlog refinement, and agile ceremonies to help elevate engineering standards and team performance.

What We're Looking For
You're someone who thrives in a productfocused engineering environment and brings both technical excellence and a growth mindset. You'll have:

• 5+ years of experience building outstanding web applications using modern frameworks, tools, and engineering practices.

• 1+ years of hands-on experience building cloudnative applications using AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Strong proficiency in Node.js and modern JavaScript/TypeScript, with demonstrated experience designing and building robust APIs.

• Expertise with both relational and nonrelational databases.

• A passion for creating intuitive, userfocused digital experiences.

• A flexible, adaptive problemsolving mindset-you love learning new tools, exploring new ideas, and solving meaningful problems.

• A mature, collaborative approach to teamwork-you give and receive feedback constructively.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum or Kanban methodologies.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)
These aren't required, but they'll help you stand out:

• Experience with Git, Jenkins, JIRA, Vue.js, Java, or .NET.

• Familiarity with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, and CloudWatch.

• Background in financial services or fintech.
