Overview
Mastercard is seeking a detail-oriented, analytically strong professional to join our Customer Solutions Center (CSC) as Senior Specialist, Specialist Sales, Acceptance & Merchant Solutions, Southeast Asia, based in Malaysia. This role is key to accelerating Mastercard's acceptance and merchant cloud strategy in one of Southeast Asia's most dynamic and fast-growing digital commerce markets.
This role supports the growth of Mastercard's Acceptance and Merchant Cloud Services across SEA, with an additional focus on the Bill Payments verticals across Southeast Asia. The candidate will play a key role in driving data-backed insights, monitoring performance, and supporting strategic initiatives to expand acceptance, grow gateway and merchant cloud revenue, increase transaction volumes, and strengthen partnerships with bill payment merchants and acquirers.
The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capability, a solid understanding of digital payments and acceptance ecosystems, and the ability to translate granular data into actionable business recommendations.
This role will be reporting to the Director, Specialist Sales, Acceptance & Merchant Solutions, Southeast Asia. You will drive Mastercard's capabilities and execute market strategies by collaborating with key strategic partners such as Acquirers, Payment Facilitators, Transit Operators, and local regulators etc. Your focus will be on driving profitable revenue growth and uncovering opportunities to expand Mastercard's Acceptance and Merchant Cloud solutions and services in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Bill Payments & Underpenetrated Verticals Growth Through Data and Insights
- Analyse performance across Mastercard's bill payment and underpenetrated verticals, to track key KPIs, identify growth opportunities, and highlight risks. -- - Develop dashboards, reports, and insights to support decision-making and drive sustainable growth in bill payments acceptance as well as growth in volume for underpenetrated verticals.
- Support Market Execution for Underpenetrated verticals and Bill Payment Strategy
- Support the execution of Mastercard's bill payments and underpenetrated verticals strategy across Southeast Asia, with a focus on Malaysia, and selected regional markets. Contribute analytical input to market prioritization, merchant targeting, and solution positioning based on data trends and customer behaviour. Drive execution in selected markets together with Account Managers.
- Drive Incremental Merchant Acceptance and Merchant Cloud Sales
- Work closely with acquirers, payment facilitators, and ecosystem partners to drive incremental Mastercard merchant locations, and also incremental Merchant cloud revenue. Support sales and onboarding, expansion, and optimisation initiatives by providing data-driven recommendations that enhance acceptance and customer experience.
- Collaborate with Franchise, Pricing, Interchange, and Product Teams
Partner with regional pricing, interchange, and product teams to analyse pricing structures, economics, and competitive benchmarks for bill payment use cases. Partner with Franchise team to review policies or introduce new guidelines to drive new growth where required. Support business cases and proposals that balance commercial growth with market competitiveness.
- Enable Country Teams with Analytical Support
- Act as an analytical support partner to country teams by providing performance reports, market insights, and structured analysis. Maintain feedback loops to ensure market intelligence and merchant insights inform product enhancements and strategic planning.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
- 2-4 years of experience in payments, fintech, financial services, or data-focused roles
- Strong data analytical skills with experience in Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI
- Ability to analyse granular datasets and translate insights into clear business recommendations
- Experience working with merchants, acquirers, or payment ecosystems preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with minimal supervision
- Collaborative, proactive, and results-oriented mindset
