Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage and monitor all installed operating systems and infrastructure (Windows and Linux)

• Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools

• Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability

Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes

• Maintain security, backup (NetBackup), and redundancy strategies

• Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks

• Participate in the design of information and operational support systems

• Provide 2nd and 3rd level support

•Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution

Required Experience/Qualifications:

• 3 years of administration-level work experience

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience

• Proven working experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows/Linux based environments.

• Solid experience administration of EMC and major SAN solutions

• VMWare/ESX administration and configuration

• Experience with virtualization and containerization (dockers)

• Experience with monitoring systems (Zabbix and Nagios)

• Experience with automation software (e.g., Saltstack, Puppet)

Hours/Travel/Shift:

Standard working hours, Monday to Friday

  • System Development Life Cycle: Knowledge of project management techniques; ability to plan, design, develop, test, implement and maintain system development life cycle segments and phases.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application or operation.
  • Technical Writing/Documentation: Knowledge of technical writing; ability to write technical documents such as manuals, reports, guidelines or documents on standards, processes and applications.
