Job Description

Key Responsibilities: 

  •  Create and maintain content across multiple products simultaneously (i.e., online help, release notes, product guides, API documentation, how-to articles, FAQs, knowledge base content and in-app help) to support new and existing product features. 

  • Manage documentation pipelines for several products at once, coordinating updates across overlapping release cycles and ensuring timely content delivery. 

  • Tailor content for various audiences as needed (i.e. end users, system admin, developers, API consumers, and internal stakeholders). 

  • Maintain content updates in response to product changes, customer feedback, and internal requests. 

  • Work with product managers, engineers, UI/UX designers, and customer support to gather source information, translate complex concepts, and validate documentation. 

  • Attend product demos, sprint planning, and stand-ups to stay informed on product changes. 

  • Participate in release readiness and go-to-market planning, to ensure timely delivery of content. 

  • Ensure consistency in voice, style, and terminology across product documentation. 

  • Develop and enforce cross‑product documentation standards, templates, and governance processes for junior team members. 

  • Identify opportunities to automate or streamline content creation (e.g. single sourcing, content reuse strategies). 

  • Establishing best practices and supporting the development of scalable documentation processes across teams. 

  • Contribute to UI/UX content strategy (tooltips, in-app help) where applicable. 

  • Leverage analytics and customer feedback to improve content effectiveness. 

  • Utilize AI-powered tools to automate content creation, such as generating initial drafts, summarizing lengthy documents, and translating content into multiple languages. 

  • Leverage AI to analyze customer feedback and usage data to identify content gaps and opportunities for improvement. 

  • Work with AI and machine learning teams to develop documentation for AI-driven product features and ensure accurate representation of AI capabilities. 

  • Identify opportunities to automate or streamline content creation, such as single sourcing and content reuse strategies. 

  • Mentor and guide other writers, fostering skill development and adherence to best practices, while ensuring all technical content is clear, accurate, consistent, and aligned with organizational standards. 

  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhere to deadlines, and rapidly acquire knowledge of complex topics in a dynamic environment is essential. 

  • Problem-solving by researching relevant information and developing comprehensive content, even when details may be unavailable. 

  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • 5-6+ years of experience in technical writing for B2B SaaS or enterprise software. 

  • Experience working directly with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, and support. 

  • Proficiency with writing and content management tools (i.e., MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, Confluence, Git, Markdown, Oxygen XML). 

  • Basic knowledge of APIs, SQL, version control systems, and software development workflows. 

  • Comfortable navigating software environments and testing features.

  • Strong written communication skills with attention to clarity, structure, and tone. 

  • Ability to absorb complex concepts and distill them for technical and non-technical users. 

  • High attention to detail and a commitment to quality in both writing and process. 

  • Effective collaborator who thrives in cross-functional teams. 

  • Self-starter who manages deadlines and shifting priorities well. 

  • Proven experience leading documentation efforts across multiple products, balancing competing priorities while maintaining high content quality.  

  • Proven  experience leading and mentoring other tech writers as well as cross-functional contributors who assist with documentation efforts. 

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or Salesforce platforms is preferred, but not required 

  • Experience supporting product or feature launches in an agile environment is a plus. 

  • Experience with REST APIs and ability to write API documentation using tools like Swagger or Postman. 

  • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS 

  • Strong editing and proofreading skills are necessary to produce high-quality, accurate documentation. 

  • Curiosity and passion for AI and its applications in content creation and management. 

  • Proven track record of using AI for content creation. 

  • Commitment to staying updated with the latest AI trends and technologies to enhance documentation practices.
