Key Responsibilities
Software Development: design, code, test, and debug software solutions in accordance with project specifications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
Coding and Documentation: write clean, efficient, and well-documented code. Maintain comprehensive documentation for code and software features.
Front end web development: ability to design, create and evolve user-facing applications to be scalable, maintainable, secure, aesthetic and usable within the constraints imposed by the browser using a combination of languages, design skills, and client-side scripts and frameworks.
Backend development: ability to write, maintain and design the business logic of a software application, the data or services requested are available as well as create and maintain the core databases, data and application program interfaces (APIs) to other backend processes.
Database Management: knowledge of database systems (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle). Competence in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
Version Control: proficient in using the Git version control systems.
Testing and Debugging: experience with testing frameworks (e.g. XUnit) and debugging tools.
DevOps: basic understanding of DevOps practices, continuous integration, and deployment.
Cloud Computing: familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Collaboration: work closely with team members to understand project requirements and collaborate on project goals. Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.
Adaptability: stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends. Adapt to new tools, languages, and methodologies as required by projects.
Quality Assurance: implement coding standards to ensure high-quality, bug-free code.
Development Principles: implement industry standard development principles and frameworks for achieving quality, speed and maintainability. This includes the practices, techniques and tools that support those principles, and an understanding of when things may or may not be applicable in a situation or context.
Giving and Receiving Feedback: solicit and engage with feedback on a continuous basis. Having timely, actionable and meaningful conversations about quality and performance for the purpose of improving effectiveness.
Emotional Intelligence: recognizes, understands and manages their own emotions and recognizes, understands, shares and influences the emotions of others. This includes learning, practising and experimenting with tools, techniques and frameworks that foster collaborative working environments.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
· Communication skills (both written and verbal) demonstrated at all levels of the organization
· Software development skills (.NET Framework, .NET Core, C#, VB.Net, React, MVC, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, Xamarin, Java / XCode)
·Cloud computing, particularly Microsoft Azure, with experience of deploying and managing applications in the cloud
·RESTful API development
·Testing framework knowledge (XUnit, Moq) and test driven development experience
·Experience of source code control and release management (CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps)
·Knowledge of API testing (Postman).
·Database management, extensive query skills and ORM (Entity Framework) experience
Agile development methodologies: Kanban, Scrum, XP, Lean.
