About the Role:
As a QA Automation Engineer at Planful, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software product through the design, development, and execution of automated testing solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement testing strategies, identify defects, and drive continuous improvement in our software development lifecycle. This role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in QA automation to contribute to the success of a high-growth software company and make a meaningful impact on our products and services.
Position Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product management, development, and QA teams to understand requirements and define test strategies and test plans.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for functional, regression, and performance testing.
- Implement and maintain test automation frameworks and tools to ensure efficient and reliable test execution.
- Execute automated tests, analyze test results, and report defects in a timely manner, ensuring high-quality software releases.
- Work closely with developers to reproduce and debug issues, providing detailed feedback and assisting in root cause analysis.
- Participate in code reviews, providing feedback on testability, code quality, and automation coverage.
- Continuously evaluate and improve test processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.
- Mentor junior QA engineers, sharing knowledge and best practices in test automation and quality assurance.
- Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in QA automation, contributing to the technical growth and innovation of the team.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience (3+ years) as a QA Automation Engineer or Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), with a focus on test automation.
- Strong proficiency in test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, Cypress, or Appium.
- Experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript for test automation scripting.
- Solid understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Travis CI.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and identify root causes.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
