We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect with deep expertise in SAS technology stack and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to design, implement, and optimize end-to-end analytics and data management solutions. The role involves working closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and infrastructure teams to define scalable, secure, and high-performing SAS solutions integrated with cloud environments.

Your key responsibilities

1. Solution Architecture & Design

• Design and architect SAS platform solutions (SAS Grid, SAS Viya, SAS 9.4) aligned with enterprise data and cloud strategy.
• Develop hybrid and cloud-native architectures leveraging GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, DataProc, Pub/Sub, and Compute Engine.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs ensuring scalability, performance, and compliance.
• Define integration strategies between SAS, databases, APIs, and cloud components.

2. Implementation & Deployment

• Lead SAS migration or modernization initiatives from on-prem to SAS Viya on GCP.
• Oversee infrastructure provisioning, installation, configuration, and performance tuning of SAS environments.
• Ensure optimal resource utilization and cost efficiency in cloud deployments.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to enable CI/CD pipelines and automation for SAS workloads.

3. Governance & Security

• Ensure solutions comply with data security, privacy, and regulatory standards (GDPR, ISO, SOC2, etc.).
• Define and enforce standards for access control, authentication, and encryption for SAS environments.
• Develop architecture documentation, design patterns, and best practices.

4. Stakeholder Management

• Act as a trusted advisor for business and technology leaders on SAS architecture and cloud adoption.
• Conduct architecture reviews and present recommendations to executive and technical committees.
• Work with vendors (SAS Institute, Google) to optimize licensing, architecture, and performance.

Your skills and experience

• SAS Expertise:
  • Strong experience in SAS 9.4, SAS Viya, SAS Studio, SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS Grid Manager, and SAS Management Console.
  • Experience designing and deploying large-scale SAS analytical environments.
  • Knowledge of SAS integration with databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, Teradata, Snowflake, etc.).
• Cloud & Infrastructure:
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) — Compute Engine, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, IAM, and networking.
  • Experience in cloud migration, architecture optimization, and cost management.
  • Understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) for SAS Viya.
• Architectural Skills:
  • Strong background in solution architecture, system design, and enterprise integration.
  • Familiarity with ETL, data warehousing, and analytics frameworks.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible) and DevOps practices.
• Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams.
