Job Responsibilities
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert, providing guidance and thought leadership to the Employee Platforms developer community.
- Influence and inspire developers to adopt best practices and innovative solutions.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive developer community within Employee Platforms, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
- Organize and lead community events, workshops, and forums to engage and connect developers.
- Partner with central teams to align on the development and enhancement of firm wide developer tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, IT, and other stakeholders, to understand and address developer needs.
- Establish and promote developer best practices, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and efficient software solutions.
- Develop and maintain coding standards, guidelines, and documentation to support the developer community.
- Drive the adoption of AI assistants/agents to improve developer productivity and efficiency.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends, advocating for their adoption where appropriate.
- Communicate effectively with the EP Head of Engineering and Architecture, providing updates on community initiatives and progress. Engage with developers to gather feedback and insights, using this information to drive continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Formal training or certification on software development concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
- Strong experience in application development, with a proven track record in senior engineering or technical leadership roles.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, developer tools, and AI technologies.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically and execute tactically, with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to drive technology adoption and change management.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Experience in community building and engagement within a developer environment.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and version control systems like Git.
- Experience in organizing and leading developer events and workshops.
- Familiarity with Test-Driven Development methodologies, ensuring robust and reliable software solutions.
- Familiarity with automated testing tools such as Selenium or JUnit, enhancing software quality and efficiency.
- Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus or Grafana, enabling effective monitoring and performance analysis.
- Familiarity with load testing tools such as Apache JMeter or LoadRunner, ensuring system performance and scalability.
