The Impact of Sr Software Engineering to Coupa:
At a technical level your development team will offer application and infrastructure support for customer environments. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate across software products with engineers all over the company and globe to plan and deploy product releases.
We are looking for an extremely talented Sr Software Engineer to join our Platform Team. You will be part of a global agile group that is responsible for building the best in class SaaS platform, deployment infrastructure, and services. The position will require a candidate to design, develop, maintain, and scale Coupa’s platform systems, services, and operational automation. Our main languages are Ruby and Go, and we expect you to be able to contribute in either.
In summary, the Technology Platform Team is responsible for the backbone of Coupa’s Enterprise SaaS Application. We evaluate and introduce new technologies where it makes sense, we develop features that can impact all customers, we develop tools and frameworks to improve our process, we work in close collaboration with Operations, and we hold the bar very high for what we deliver.
What You'll Do:
- Being a hands-on contributor is a key responsibility in this role
- Design, develop, maintain, and scale Coupa’s platform systems and services
- Participate in operational design and code review
- Architect and develop reusable microservices and other Platform components
- Develop frameworks for standardizing and enabling data flows via APIs, files, message queues
- Advocate best practices (unit/automation testing, code reviews, code quality, etc.)
- Engage with other teams to make platform components simpler to deploy and operate
- A good team player, works and communicates well with others
- Find creative, elegant and maintainable solutions to complex problems
- Continually look for opportunities to improve our platform, process and business
What You Will Bring to Coupa:
- At least 5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise software development using RoR (Ruby on Rails) Framework
- Experience with React, strong knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, HTML5
- Experience with CSS and building responsive pages, with a keen eye for UI design and usability
- Experience working collaboratively with a globally distributed team
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Github Actions, Jenkins, TeamCity
- Experience with MySQL, Redis or similar Database and caching
- Experience working with Amazon AWS, EC2, or similar elastic cloud environments
- Passion for building enterprise web applications leveraging modern architecture principles, prior solid experience as a full stack developer
- Capable of working efficiently and delivering on time without significant oversight
- Passion for keeping up with new trends and developments in the programming community and eagerness to incorporate these new ideas into our codebase
