Celonis Process Management is at the forefront of revolutionizing business process management. We create Business Process Management Software that lets employees do their best work. We are responsible for two major apps: The Process Designer is used for creating a full enterprise map of an organization. The Role:
As a Staff Backend Engineer, you will bring your general software engineering expertise to our innovative projects and continuously evolving concepts. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud technology, stay on top of trends, and drive projects with an ever-increasing degree of independence. This is a unique opportunity for talented engineers to push their boundaries and think big.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end system architecture for new and existing product lines, making critical decisions on technology, design patterns, and standards.
- Spearhead the development of complex, cloud-native applications and services using C# and the .NET ecosystem.
- Design, develop, and own robust, scalable microservices that form the backbone of our platform.
- Tackle the most challenging technical problems in distributed systems, including concurrency, scalability, fault tolerance, and data consistency.
- Act as a technical mentor to senior and junior engineers, elevating the team's technical bar through code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.
Your qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering) or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of professional software development experience, with a proven track record of shipping high-quality, large-scale software.
- Deep, expert-level knowledge of C# and the .NET Framework/.NET Core.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems principles and patterns.
- Demonstrable experience in designing, building, and operating microservices-based architectures in a production environment.
- Hands-on experience building and deploying cloud-native applications on at least one major cloud provider (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- A strong portfolio of designing and building robust, RESTful, or gRPC-based APIs.
- Proven ability to design and articulate complex end-to-end system architectures and to lead technical design discussions across teams.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Able to demonstrate a generalist skill set across multiple technical areas besides the Backend, DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure and Networking.
- Deep understanding of modern engineering practices (Git strategy, CI/CD, testing, …) and how to apply these to enable a team of multiple engineers.
- Ability to quickly learn new things without tight supervision.
