We are looking for an experienced Staff Backend Engineers to join the Veeam Data Cloud (VDC) engineering team. You will be working with a global team to build next-generation data protection services focused on ensuring data resilience for our customers. This is a unique opportunity to work on greenfield projects, building features from the ground up that will be deployed and utilized worldwide
Your tasks will include:
- Defines and drives technical vision for multiple areas within their team. Leads cross-team deliverables.
- Design and develop highly reliable and scalable SaaS microservices, integrated with a variety of cloud-based managed services utilizing Golang
- Participate in technical design discussions, reviewing code, and providing feedback to other engineers. Solves hardest, most ambiguous team wide challenges. Develops frameworks for others to follow.
- Drives team deliverables in a timely and predictable fashion. Sets execution standards across the team. Ensure your code is high-quality, thoroughly tested, and secure
- Facilitates effective collaboration and organizes across the engineering organization, drives discussions toward a resolution or action. Helps others across organization understand their team’s technology.
- Participate in on-call rotation for product operations.
What we expect from you:
- 10+ years of experience in the software development industry
- Demonstrated expertise designing, building, and implementing SaaS or large-scale cloud services on Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Expertise with a modern programming language like Java, C#, Go, or Rust
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes or other container and orchestration tools
- Experience designing and implementing event-driven architectures
- Expertise in developing, testing, and debugging production-quality, scalable, concurrent systems
- A strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals (data structures and algorithms)
- Passion for code quality, extensibility, coding standards, testing, and automation
