Job Description
What you get to do in this role:
We are seeking a Staff Engineer to lead the design and development of our AI-first observability platform. You will play a key role in building the next-generation observability pipeline that powers intelligent insights through agentic AI, distributed APIs, and advanced data correlation.

• Lead architecture and development of distributed APIs and observability data pipelines.
• Integrate and advance agentic AI capabilities within observability workflows to enable intelligent automation, anomaly detection, and correlation.
• Kick off AI-first observability initiatives, including query federation and statistical modelling.
• Design scalable data models and ingestion pipelines for metrics, logs, and traces.
• Drive engineering best practices and mentor senior engineers.
• Collaborate with AI/ML, SRE, and Product teams to deliver intelligent, reliable observability solutions.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role you have:

• Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry.
• 10+ years of software development experience in Java, with proven ability to design and deliver large-scale systems.
• 5+ years of experience building observability solutions, including metrics, logging, and tracing pipelines.
• At least 1 year of hands-on agentic AI experience - designing, building, or integrating agent-based AI systems.
• Proven Agentic AI experience - designing, building, or integrating agent-based AI systems.
• BS in Computer Science (AI specialization) or Mathematics; advanced degree preferred.
• Strong programming expertise in Java.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native systems.
• Proven track record in distributed systems, query federation, and APIs.
• Background in observability data architecture (metrics, logs, traces).
• Knowledge of correlation methods, statistical engineering, and applied AI/ML.
• Preferred Experience
• Work on or with observability platforms (Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Elastic, VictoriaMetrics, etc.).
• Query optimization and large-scale data federation.
• Leading cross-functional, high-impact engineering projects.
