Job Summary
Iron Mountain is seeking a motivated Data Center Administrator - L1 to join our Data Center Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for the proactive monitoring of compute and link alerts, physical installation of server hardware, and the end-to-end management of Linux operating systems to ensure maximum environment stability.
You will join a dedicated team of infrastructure specialists focused on maintaining high-performance data center functions and delivering seamless technical support across cross-functional domains.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
Responsibility 1: Execute the physical deployment, rack mounting, and cabling of server hardware while conducting thorough testing and validation to ensure all configurations meet reliability standards.
Responsibility 2: Collaborate with system administrators, network engineers, and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) to resolve hardware issues and ensure the seamless integration of server components.
Responsibility 3: Ensure compliance with organizational standards by performing Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) OS hardening, managing security policies, and maintaining Knowledge Base documents such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
What You’ll Bring
The ideal candidate will have:
2+ years of experience in Data Center Operations or a related technical environment.
Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (specifically Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.x and 8.x), virtualization technologies like VMware or Nutanix, and core protocols including DNS and SNMP.
Proven ability in problem-solving and proactive monitoring using tools such as PRTG or Zoho to remediate system alerts and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for critical cases.
A Bachelor of Engineering in Computers, Master of Computer Applications, or a related Information Technology degree, supplemented by a Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification.
