Technical Lead - Oracle DBA

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our PTC MOVE team. This role focuses on Oracle database performance tuning and administration, while contributing to solutions for warehouse management systems. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience interacting with customers to resolve technical issues and provide guidance.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and optimize Oracle databases for high performance and reliability.
• Implement best practices for database design, tuning, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with global teams to support PTC MOVE applications and warehouse management processes.
• Customer Interaction: Work directly with customers to troubleshoot issues, provide technical support, and ensure timely resolution of problems.
• Develop and maintain scripts for automation and system monitoring.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

• Oracle Database Expertise: Strong experience in performance tuning, administration, and best practices.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze complex issues and deliver effective solutions.
• PL/SQL: Proficiency in writing and optimizing PL/SQL queries and procedures.
• Customer Communication: Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and professionally to customers.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Linux/Unix Administration: Familiarity with shell scripting and system commands.
• Java & Tomcat: Basic understanding of Java applications and Tomcat server configuration.
• Warehouse Management Systems: Exposure to WMS concepts and workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in Oracle database administration and tuning.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a global team environment.
