Technical Project Manager

What you’ll do:

• Project Leadership: Lead the design, development, and deployment of batch and data products, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements.

• Technical Oversight: Provide technical direction and oversee the implementation of solutions using Java and GCP, ensuring best practices in coding, performance, and security.

• Team Management: Mentor and guide a team of developers and engineers, fostering a collaborative and high performance environment.

• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross functional teams including product managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

• Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous testing strategies to ensure the reliability and accuracy of data products.

• Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance of batch processes and data solutions, identifying and resolving any bottlenecks or issues.

• Documentation and Compliance: Maintain comprehensive documentation for all technical processes, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.

• Continuous Improvement: Advocate for and implement continuous improvement practices within the team, staying abreast of emerging technologies and methodologies.

What experience you need:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Experience: 

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in relevant software development technologies, with a focus on batch processing and data solutions.

​Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Java or Angular and other frontend Technologies, with a strong understanding of its ecosystems and should be capable of doing hands-on development activities.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Design patterns, OOAD

• Minimum 5 years of experience Java, Sprint, Spring Boot, REST, Microservices, Hibernate, JPA, RDBMS

• Minimum 5 years of experience Git, CI/CD Pipelines, Jenkins

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform, including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Big Table  and other GCP tools.

• Strong knowledge with ETL processes, data modeling, and SQL.

• Excellent leadership and team management skills.

• Strong problem solving abilities and a proactive approach to project management.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.

• Mentorship & Coaching: Identifying individual strengths and skill gaps to provide tailored career guidance.

• Career Pathing: Helping engineers navigate their trajectory, whether they want to remain individual contributors (ICs) or move into leadership.

• Performance Management: Conducting regular 1:1s, delivering constructive feedback, and managing annual performance reviews.

• Resource Allocation: Balancing technical debt with new feature development to ensure the team isn't overwhelmed by "firefighting."

• Conflict Resolution: Mediating technical disagreements (e.g., architectural disputes) and interpersonal friction before they impact productivity.

• Shielding the Team: Acting as a buffer against "scope creep" and unnecessary administrative distractions from upper management. 

What could set you apart:

• Certification in Google Cloud (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Data Engineer).

• Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is a plus.

• Understanding of data privacy regulations and compliance frameworks.
