Test Engineer – API Automation, Java/Selenium, DevOps & AWS Cloud Expert
Job Summary
Synechron seeks a Test Engineer to advance our software quality assurance initiatives. This role is key to designing and implementing automated testing frameworks with a focus on API automation using Java and Selenium. The Senior Test Engineer contributes to accelerating deployment through CI/CD integration and utilizes AWS cloud services for testing environments. By ensuring rigorous quality standards, this position supports Synechron’s business goal of delivering dependable software products that meet client and market needs.
Software Requirements
Required:
Java (version 8 or later) with strong automation scripting experience
Selenium WebDriver for automation testing
CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI for pipeline management
AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, CloudFormation) for cloud-based test environments
Bug tracking tools such as Jira or Quality Center (QC)
Preferred:
REST API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured)
Additional scripting languages like Python or JavaScript
Containerization tools (e.g., Docker)
Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform)
Overall Responsibilities
Architect, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks specifically for API testing
Collaborate with product, development, and operations teams to define test strategies aligned with requirements
Implement and manage continuous integration and delivery pipelines to optimize quality at all release stages
Deploy and manage AWS-based testing infrastructure supporting scalable and reliable test execution
Analyze test results and provide insights to improve software reliability and performance
Mentor junior quality engineers in automation best practices and quality assurance methodologies
Participate actively in Agile team ceremonies including sprint planning and retrospectives
Continuously evaluate and optimize testing processes for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness

Databases/Data Management:
Basic knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (Essential)
Cloud Technologies:
AWS (EC2, S3, CloudFormation) – Essential
Frameworks and Libraries:
Selenium WebDriver – Essential
RestAssured, Postman – Preferred
Development Tools and Methodologies:
Jenkins, GitLab CI (CI/CD) – Essential
Agile/Scrum methodologies – Essential
Security Protocols:
Awareness of secure coding and testing practices – Preferred
Experience Requirements
Minimum 7 years in software quality assurance with a focus on automation testing
Demonstrated experience in API automation frameworks and DevOps practices
Proven expertise with cloud-based testing environments, preferably AWS
Industry experience in finance, healthcare, or technology sectors is advantageous but not mandatory
Candidates with equivalent hands-on automation engineering experience in related domains considered
Day-to-Day Activities
Writing, reviewing, and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks
Engaging in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings
Collaborating with cross-functional teams including developers, product owners, and DevOps engineers
Monitoring and analyzing automated test executions and troubleshooting failures
Leading continuous improvement initiatives related to test coverage and efficiency
Exercising informed decision-making in automation strategy and infrastructure provisioning
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
Relevant certifications such as ISTQB, AWS Certified Developer, or equivalent are a plus
