About the Role
Join our dynamic QA Force as a Test Engineer, you’ll ensure the reliability, performance, and
scalability of our products by designing and implementing tests as well as test automation
frameworks. You will work closely with the engineering and product teams to establish testing
strategies, identify defects early, and drive continuous improvement in software quality, following
the shift-left approach adhering to Automation First approach. You will be responsible for
developing and maintaining automated test frameworks across Backend APIs involving Restful
APIs, Web UI, and mobile applications, ensuring seamless customer experiences in a fast-paced
Agile/Scrum environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute functional and performance tests using JMeter, TestNG, and custom
automation frameworks.
• Automate regression suites across RESTful APIs, Web UI (Selenium), and mobile
automation (Appium) for retail product.
• Participate actively in Agile Ceremonies: backlog refinement, sprint planning, story
grooming, and daily stand-ups.
• Work closely with Product Owners, Developers, and Scrum Masters to define acceptance
criteria and refine user stories.
• Contribute to building scalable test frameworks with CI/CD integration (Jenkins, GitHub
Actions).
• Conducted root cause analysis for failed tests and assisted in defect triage and reporting.
• Provide performance benchmarks for APIs critical to peak retail events (Black Friday,
seasonal sales).
Skills & Experience Required
• Strong experience in designing, writing, and executing automated tests for RESTful APIs
(backend automation) using API tools like JMeter and Java + TestNG
• Strong Hands-on experience with Apache JMeter for API testing & performance testing.
• Web automation experience using Playwright and Appium for native/hybrid apps.
• Knowledge of JSON, XML, SQL, and backend validation.
• Solid experience in Agile Scrum teams with tools like Jira, Confluence.
• Collaborate with product, development, and operations teams to ensure timely and highquality
feature
delivery.
• Strong hands-on with version control (Git) and CI pipelines.
• Conduct functional, regression, integration, and performance testing for enterprise
applications and integration workflows.
• Analyze business and technical requirements, providing feedback to ensure robust and
scalable solutions.
Nice to Have
• Exposure to REST Assured tool, PostgreSQL, Mongo
• Work on mobile retail apps (iOS/Android) using Appium for automation.
• Exposure to BDD frameworks like Cucumber.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Solutions.
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools like DataDog.
• Experience in retail domain preferred (e.g., PoS, inventory, catalog systems, order
management).
• Intent to explore new market-updated methodologies and rational thinking towards quality
delivery
