The Specialist, Global Payroll job is responsible for analyzing and reviewing the payroll compliance process within human resources. This job contributes to the enterprise's payroll processing procedures and answers employees' payroll questions. Under moderate supervision, this job prepares processes and focuses on payroll-specific maintenance, including reconciliation of records, legislation compliance and data verification, administration and reporting.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Reviews payroll data, production records, and individual attendance records within the HRIS and payroll system and corrects errors to ensure the accuracy of payroll payments.
- Calculation of gross & net pay amounts to ensure accuracy (e.g., salary, timesheets, overtime, shift payments, sales commissions, bonuses, deferred compensation, benefits (401k/pre-tax/post-tax), tax withholdings, deductions, payroll liabilities, etc.,).
- Works on retroactive location changes, travel allocations, wage corrections, tax validation, garnishment processing, and W-2 corrections
- Reconciliation of payroll records (payments, deductions, benefits & taxes) and processes the organization's payroll accurately.
- Ensures the balance of payroll runs and compliance with related requirements, including minimum wage, local tax rates, and related federal and state regulations.
- Respond and manage employee inquiries and troubleshooting issues related to payroll
- Coordinates and processes all type of payroll payments (e.g., One-time payments, bonus payments, Executive deferred Compensation plans etc.) while ensuring compliance and correct tax deductions.
- Perform periodic audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy of Employee pay information.
- Maintain the day-to-day relationship with the internal, external payroll partners.
- Performs methodological review of payroll data based on established procedures to ensure payrolls are processed timely and accurately.
- Should be able to work with the business, cross-functional collaboration and provide the appropriate solutions.
- Work as SMEs to update and maintain business process policies and procedures.
- Preparing and filing tax reports, communicating with 3rd party payroll and tax reporting vendors.
- Partner with 3rd party vendor regarding unemployment, garnishment etc., notices to verify employment / pay data / deduction data and perform follow-up as necessary.
- Performs as a back-up for Payroll team member duties as needed.

- 5+ Years of hands-on payroll experience with 3+ years in US payroll hands-on experience is a must.
- At least 3 years of payroll experience with a proven facility in data entry, customer service and problem resolution.
- Thorough understanding of payroll systems and processes, including knowledge of payroll tax laws, direct deposits, benefits, and deductions.
- Sound and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills are required to exchange complex information.
- Integrity and professionalism to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Good knowledge on MS excel and its features.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with onshore team and payroll vendor.
- Self-starter with minimum or no hand hold support.
- Detail-oriented and analytical thinking skills to ensure accurate payroll processing and record keeping.
- Problem-solving skills to address any payroll issues or discrepancies swiftly and efficiently.
- Open to US shift timings and extended shift timings as per the business needs.
