Your Impact:- Validate technology design, software releases, new Cisco technology solutions for projects/accounts to accelerate customer outcomes
- Build customer simulations in test labs to resolve/validate sophisticated problems& compatibility issues
- Understanding of product level architecture. Ability to apply Cisco Networking Design standard methodologies in Validation Scenarios.
- Write effective test cases and /or scripts based on customer test environment and requirements.
- Raise defects, liaison with Dev engineers and drive issues resolution.
- Review test plans and design changes related to area of responsibility.
- Apply field concepts to system tests. Have a working knowledge of customer deployments and able to map it to the feature
- Tackle complex, multi-functional issues that cross many technologies in Core and Edge networking
- Build traffic profiles with 3rd party test tools such as Ixia or Spirent.
- Build and deliver customer collateral, portals, documentation and knowledge transfer
- Align with and support company policies and processes and apply relevant tools to efficiently implement the role and support Professional Services’ strategies and goals
- Play the role of an individual contributor
What You'll Do:
- Validate technology designs, software releases, and new Cisco networking solutions for projects/accounts to accelerate customer outcomes.
- Deploy, configure, validate, and troubleshoot Cisco SD-WAN solutions, including vManage, vSmart, vBond, Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Edge platforms, to optimize WAN performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Design, deploy, and support Cisco Software-Defined Access (SDA) fabric solutions using Cisco Catalyst Center (formerly DNA Center).
- Configure and manage Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for policy-based segmentation, authentication, authorization, and network access control within SDA environments.
- Configure and troubleshoot Fabric Underlay and Overlay networks, including LISP, VXLAN, Anycast Gateway, and Control Plane Nodes.
- Implement and validate Macro and Micro Segmentation, Virtual Networks (VNs), and Scalable Group Tags (SGTs) to enforce end-to-end security policies.
- Configure and manage Cisco Wireless solutions, including Cisco Catalyst 9800 Wireless Controllers, Catalyst and Meraki Access Points, and wireless LANs integrated with SDA fabric.
- Perform software validation, feature testing, interoperability testing, and regression testing across SD-WAN, SDA, Wireless, and Campus Networking solutions.
- Monitor network performance, analyze telemetry, troubleshoot complex issues, and recommend performance improvements across SD-WAN, SDA, and Wireless infrastructures.
- Automate network validation and operational tasks using APIs (REST, gRPC, gNMI), Python, and Cisco automation frameworks where applicable.
- Collaborate with multi-functional engineering teams to validate new software releases, features, and customer deployments.
- Provide technical guidance, documentation, and knowledge transfer to internal engineering teams.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco SD-WAN including vManage, vSmart, vBond, Catalyst SD-WAN Edge Routers, Application-Aware Routing, Control/Data Policies, and VPN Segmentation.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco Software-Defined Access (SDA) including Cisco Catalyst Center (DNA Center), Cisco ISE, Fabric Edge Nodes, Border Nodes, Control Plane Nodes, Fabric Wireless, Host Onboarding, Virtual Networks (VN), Scalable Group Tags (SGT), TrustSec, LISP, and VXLAN.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco Wireless technologies including Cisco Catalyst 9800 Wireless Controllers, Cisco Catalyst Access Points, Cisco Meraki Wireless, and RF optimization/troubleshooting.
- Design, deploy, configure, and support enterprise Cisco Wireless LAN (WLAN) solutions.
- Provision and manage wireless infrastructure using Cisco Catalyst Center (DNA Center).
- Monitor wireless network health, client experience, RF performance, and assurance using
- Build technical documentation, deployment guides, and operational runbooks.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Education &/ Additional Certifications: Expert & Professional level Cisco certifications like CCIE, and CCNP , AI Certifications are highly desire
Minimum 8 to 10 Years of experience.
Strong hands-on experience in designing, deploying, upgrading, and troubleshooting enterprise-scale Cisco Wireless networks.
Expert-level knowledge of Cisco Catalyst 9800 Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC) and IOS-XE Wireless architecture.
Hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst Access Points, including Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi 6/6E and Wi-Fi 7 platforms.
Solid understanding of 802.11 standards and RF fundamentals, including 2.4/5/6 GHz bands, channel planning, channel width, Tx power, RSSI, SNR, interference, roaming and capacity planning.
Strong troubleshooting experience for client connectivity, authentication, roaming, DHCP/DNS, latency, packet loss, interference and poor wireless performance.
Experience with Cisco Catalyst Center (DNA Center) for wireless provisioning, monitoring, Assurance, Client 360, telemetry and troubleshooting.
Strong knowledge of Cisco ISE integration with Wireless, including 802.1X, MAB, RADIUS, AAA, profiling, guest access and policy enforcement.
Strong understanding of WPA2/WPA3, EAP methods, certificates, PKI and enterprise wireless security.
Experience with advanced wireless features including RRM, CleanAir, Fast Secure Roaming (802.11r), 802.11k/v, FlexConnect, mobility and high availability.
Experience performing wireless site surveys, RF assessments, capacity planning and AP placement/design using tools such as Ekahau is highly desirable.
Solid experience with WLC/AP software upgrades, lifecycle management, HA/SSO, configuration migration and production change activities.
Experience integrating Wireless with Cisco SDA Fabric, including Fabric Wireless, Catalyst Center, ISE, SGT and segmentation.
Strong knowledge of supporting network technologies including VLANs, STP, DHCP, DNS, routing, switching, QoS, multicast and ACLs.
Ability to perform packet-level troubleshooting using tools such as Wireshark and analyze WLC/AP/client debugs.
Exposure to Python, REST APIs and network automation for wireless provisioning, validation and operational tasks is preferred.
