About the Role
To support and enhance internal processes as they relate to budgeting, reconciliation, cost control, reporting and financial analysis.
Working with the Finance Team and Show Accountant, the successful candidate will prepare budgets and forecasts, undertake reconciliations, draft financial reports and evaluate performance against targets and KPIs.
Given the nature of the position in the entertainment sector, he/she will also play an important ‘hands on’ role in undertaking show settlements and delivering key projects.
What the role includes
- Monitoring and evaluation of revenue and expense transactions.
- Preparation of income and cash flow statements.
- Preparation of budgets and forecasts – to include the identification of key assumptions and related costs.
- Supporting the Show Accountant in: (i) the preparation of individual show budgets and (ii) undertaking show settlements.
- Analysis of trends and variances, calculation of financial ratios and development/reporting of KPIs.
- Undertaking audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Identification and recommendation of scope for efficiencies and cost controls.
- Ensuring compliance with, and continuous improvement of, purchase order processes.
- Support in the preparation of month-end accounts.
- Supporting internal (finance and related) company projects whilst ensuring compliance with financial controls.
Who you are
Competencies / Skills / Knowledge / Experience
- Qualified accountant.
- Strong costing / budgeting experience.
- Proficiency in MS Excel.
- Proven track record of technical competence and commercial aptitude.
- Good clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well as part of a team.
- Good time and task management skills, and an ability to deal with competing deadlines.
