Full Stack Senior Developer

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

To be successful as a Full Stack Senior Developer, you should have experience with:

• Strong expertise in Java 21+ and Spring Boot, including development of scalable microservices, API design, security, resilience patterns, and performance optimization.
• Deep knowledge of asynchronous messaging frameworks, including Kafka and IBM MQ with expertise in event-driven architecture, message design, delivery guarantees, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with REST-based integrations- using Rest Template/Web Client service-to-service communication, and distributed system architecture.
• Experience with Oracle and MongoDB databases, query optimization, transaction management, and integration with microservices.
• Strong understanding of design patterns and engineering best practices for highly scalable, resilient, and asynchronous processing systems, including observability, fault tolerance, and performance tuning.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

• Knowledge and practical application of Agentic AI, AI-assisted development tools, and automation frameworks.
• Experience with any Public Cloud platforms preferably AWS, including cloud-native architecture, containerization, and managed services.
• Domain knowledge of Payments Processing, including payment lifecycles, messaging standards, reconciliation, fraud controls, and regulatory considerations.
