IT Project Manager | Cloud, AI/ML, Blockchain & Cross-Functional Leadership

Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead the delivery of innovative technology solutions supporting enterprise growth in emerging technology domains such as cloud computing, AI/ML, blockchain, and IoT. This role involves overseeing cross-functional teams, managing complex development initiatives, and driving strategic initiatives to ensure timely, high-quality project delivery. The successful candidate will bridge technical expertise with business acumen to enable digital transformation and maintain a competitive edge.

Software Requirements
 

Required Software Proficiency:

• Project management tools: Jira, MS Project, or equivalent — for planning, tracking, and reporting project progress

• Collaboration tools: Confluence, MS Teams, or SharePoint — for documentation and team communication

• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP — familiarity with deploying and managing emerging technology solutions in cloud environments

• Agile management tools and methodologies — proven experience in Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid frameworks

Preferred Software Skills:

• Program automation tools and frameworks supporting CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab)

• Business analytics and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau) — for tracking project KPIs and strategic metrics

• Vendor management systems for procurement and partner collaboration

Overall Responsibilities

• Lead and manage large-scale technology projects across emerging domains, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical standards

• Drive planning, execution, and delivery of initiatives supporting cloud, AI/ML, blockchain, and IoT strategies

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze feasibility, and define project scope and timelines

• Coordinate cross-functional teams, including technical leads, vendors, and business units, to ensure high-quality deliverables

• Manage project risks, issues, and dependencies proactively, escalating as needed to senior leadership

• Implement best practices in project management, change management, and Agile processes to improve delivery efficiency

• Monitor project progress through KPIs, metrics, and dashboards; report status regularly to executive sponsors

• Support continuous improvement initiatives focusing on operational efficiency, automation, and value delivery

• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, risk logs, and lessons learned

Technical Skills (By Category)

• Project & Portfolio Management Tools:

  • Essential: Jira, MS Project, or equivalent

  • Preferred: Advanced project tracking and automation in Azure DevOps or ServiceNow

• Domain Knowledge:

  • Understanding of cloud computing, AI/ML, blockchain, and IoT architectures supporting enterprise solutions

• Communication & Collaboration:

  • Proficiency in stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and influencing cross-functional teams

• Tools & Frameworks:

  • Agile, Scrum, Kanban — managing iterative delivery cycles and scope flexibility

  • Vendor and third-party management systems for project procurement and delivery oversight

Experience Requirements

• A minimum of 12+ years of IT project management experience with at least 7+ years leading complex, multi-domain technology projects

• Proven track record of delivering cloud, AI/ML, blockchain, or IoT projects within enterprise environments

• Strong familiarity with agile methodologies, hybrid delivery models, and proven leadership in cross-functional team management

• Industry experience in financial services, healthcare, or regulated sectors is preferred

• Demonstrated experience balancing technical, operational, and strategic priorities in high-pressure environments

Day-to-Day Activities

• Lead project planning sessions, define deliverables, and monitor milestones for emerging technology initiatives

• Engage with stakeholders at various levels to clarify requirements, manage expectations, and communicate progress

• Coordinate with technical teams to resolve project impediments and align deliverables with strategic goals

• Drive adherence to project management standards, risk management, and quality assurance processes

• Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and timelines to ensure successful delivery

• Facilitate retrospectives and implement lessons learned for continuous process improvement

• Maintain up-to-date project documentation, risk logs, and stakeholder reporting dashboards

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related fields

• 12+ years of experience in managing large-scale technology projects, with 7+ years supporting emerging technology initiatives

• Certifications such as PMP, PgMP, Agile Scrum Master, or relevant technical certifications (e.g., AWS/Azure Solutions Architect) are preferred

• Proven ability to deliver complex programs within regulated or enterprise environments
