The Opportunity:
We are undertaking a major strategic initiative to modernize our critical business applications from legacy Mainframe systems to a modern, cloud-native architecture leveraging Java, Angular, and AWS. This transformation is vital for our future, enhancing our agility, scalability, and ability to innovate. We are looking for passionate and experienced Java/Angular/AWS Technical Leads to drive the design and development of these new solutions.

As a Java Angular AWS Technical Lead, you will lead a development team focused on building the modern components of our architecture. You will be responsible for the technical design, development, and deployment of resilient, scalable microservices and user interfaces on AWS, ensuring seamless integration with (or replacement of) legacy mainframe functionalities. You will collaborate closely with mainframe experts, architects, and product owners to bridge the technology gap and ensure a successful transition.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership: Lead, mentor, and provide technical direction to a team of Java and Angular developers working on modernization initiatives. Promote best practices in software design, coding, testing, and deployment.

Solution Design & Architecture: Design and architect robust, scalable, and secure cloud-native solutions (microservices, APIs, front-end applications) using Java (Spring Boot), Angular, and AWS services.

Development & Implementation: Actively participate in hands-on development, code reviews, and implementation of complex application components, ensuring high-quality, maintainable code.

AWS Expertise: Leverage AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, SQS, SNS) effectively to build and deploy applications. Design for cost-optimization, performance, and reliability in the cloud.

Bridging Technologies: Collaborate closely with mainframe technical leads and SMEs to understand legacy system functionalities, data structures, and integration points. Design effective interfaces and migration strategies.

API Strategy: Design, develop, and manage RESTful APIs for internal and external consumption, ensuring consistency, security, and performance.

CI/CD & DevOps: Champion and implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for automated builds, testing, and deployments within the AWS environment.

Technical Problem Solving: Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex technical issues spanning front-end, back-end, and cloud infrastructure.

Performance & Security: Ensure applications meet performance, scalability, and security requirements. Implement appropriate monitoring, logging, and alerting.

Collaboration & Communication: Effectively communicate technical designs, decisions, and challenges to technical teams, architects, project managers, and business stakeholders.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, OR equivalent extensive practical experience.

8+ years of hands-on software development experience, with significant expertise in Java Spring Boot

Proven experience (at least 2+ years) in a technical leadership role, guiding development teams and owning technical design.

Strong experience developing modern web applications using Angular

Demonstrable experience designing, building, and deploying applications on AWS using core services (compute, storage, database, networking, serverless, containers).

Solid understanding and practical experience with microservices architecture, RESTful API design, and development.

Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, MongoDB).

Experience with build tools (Maven/Gradle), version control (Git), and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline).

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

Direct experience working on a Mainframe modernization project.

Familiarity with mainframe concepts (COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM) – ability to understand requirements and interact with mainframe teams is a strong plus.

Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS).

Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS/ECS).

Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

Experience with automated testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, Selenium, Cypress, etc.).

AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Developer).

Experience working in Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
