Java Developer | Spring/Hibernate/JSF, REST & SQL

Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a capable and collaborative Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications. This role emphasizes strong backend development with Java and Java EE, complemented by front-end collaboration as needed. The successful candidate will contribute to architectural decisions, drive feature delivery, and support modern delivery practices to enable business growth and digital transformation.

Software Requirements

Required Skills (Essential)

• Proficiency in Java and Java EE platforms for enterprise application development

• Experience with web development frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, or JSF

• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservices concepts

• Knowledge of relational databases and SQL (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server)

• Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence)

• Understanding of SDLC/Agile methodologies and working in cross-functional teams

• Experience with build tools such as Maven or Gradle

Preferred Skills

• Cloud deployment experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

• Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito) for back-end; Jest/Enzyme for front-end (if applicable)

• NoSQL databases and data warehousing concepts

• Familiarity with microservices architecture and API gateways

Overall Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications and APIs in alignment with business requirements

• Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code; participate in code reviews to uphold quality standards

• Collaborate with product managers, UX teams, and back-end developers to design integrated solutions

• Optimize application performance, reliability, and security across environments

• Contribute to architecture discussions and ensure alignment with enterprise standards

• Support CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment processes

• Maintain comprehensive documentation, including architecture, deployment procedures, and technical specifications

• Mentor junior developers and promote knowledge sharing and best practices

• 4+ years of practical experience in Java development for enterprise systems

• Proven ability to deliver scalable applications and APIs

• Experience working in Agile teams and contributing to CI/CD initiatives

• Cross-functional collaboration with product, QA, and operations teams

• Banking or regulated industry experience is a plus but not mandatory

• Alternative pathways: substantial project experience, relevant certifications, or notable contributions to Java platforms

Day-to-Day Activities

• Develop and maintain backend services in Java and collaborate with frontend teams

• Gather requirements, plan iterations, and contribute to design discussions

• Write, review, and test code; perform unit and integration testing

• Troubleshoot production issues and optimize performance and security

• Participate in planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives

• Contribute to architecture discussions and deployment documentation

• Mentor junior developers and share knowledge across teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

• 4+ years of hands-on Java development experience

• Certifications in Java or cloud platforms are advantageous
