Position Summary: The Project Intern-Metallurgy will learn, and support ongoing research, testing, characterization, and development activities related to metals, and advanced materials. The intern will work closely with the Materials Engineering-metallurgy team to conduct experiments, analyze data, prepare technical reports, and contribute to ongoing projects that support product performance, reliability, and material selection.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Learn relevant industrial practices and procedures
  • Assist in material characterization using laboratory techniques such as: Optical Microscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) etc
  • Support sample preparation and testing activities.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze experimental data.
  • Perform literature reviews and benchmark studies.
  • Assist in failure analysis, material evaluation, and root cause investigations.
  • Prepare technical presentations and reports summarizing findings.
  • Follow laboratory safety, quality, and documentation requirements.

Required Qualification: Pursuing B.Tech./B.E. or M.Tech. in Metallurgy and Material Science


Preferred Skills:

Basic Metallurgy understanding.

Failure analysis overview

Understanding of Structure Property correlation


Learning Opportunities:

  • Hands-on experience of Metallographic techniques and advanced materials characterization tools.
  • Exposure to real-world product development and reliability projects.

Expected Deliverables :

  • Technical report writing
  • Completion of assigned project objectives.
  • Periodic progress updates and presentations.
  • Final technical report and project presentation at the end of the internship.
