QA Engineer with Automation, Testing, and Financial Services Domain Expertise
Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented QA Engineer to lead manual and automated testing efforts ensuring the quality and reliability of software products. This role involves collaborating closely with development teams to create robust test cases and scripts, executing testing procedures, analyzing results, and managing defect resolutions. The ideal candidate will leverage extensive experience in testing methodologies, automation tools, and stakeholder management to enhance quality standards and support continuous delivery of high-quality software solutions aligned with business objectives.
Software Requirements
Required:
Hands-on experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Appium, or similar frameworks
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Java for automation scripting
Experience with test management tools like GitLab, ALM, or Squash
Familiarity with defect management cycles and tools
Utilization of test reporting and governance frameworks
Release management expertise within Agile Scrum environments
Preferred:
Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)
Familiarity with cloud-based testing environments (e.g., AWS Device Farm)
Experience supporting testing in financial services or banking domains
Overall Responsibilities
Design, develop, and execute comprehensive manual and automated test cases to validate software functionality and performance.
Collaborate with development teams to understand requirements and create effective test scripts that cover functional, regression, and integration scenarios.
Identify, document, and track defects, working with developers to ensure timely resolution and retesting.
Support the software development lifecycle by integrating testing and quality activities within Agile delivery processes.
Drive continuous process improvements by evaluating new testing tools, techniques, and automation frameworks.
Generate test reports, dashboards, and metrics, providing insights on quality status, defect trends, and release readiness.
Conduct root cause analysis for defects and issues, contributing to process enhancements and quality benchmarks.
Stay current with industry trends, testing standards, and new tools to improve testing effectiveness and efficiency.

SQL query writing and data validation in databases such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server

Experience Requirements
7+ years of relevant experience in software quality assurance and automation testing.
Proven expertise in designing and executing test plans, scripts, and frameworks across multiple applications.
Experience working in fast-paced Agile environments supporting continuous delivery.
Knowledge of testing in financial services or banking domains is highly advantageous.
Demonstrated success in managing defect life cycles, automation initiatives, and stakeholder communications.
Alternative pathways include extensive testing and automation experience in complex enterprise systems with a focus on quality standards.
Day-to-Day Activities
Develop, maintain, and execute manual and automated test cases, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
Collaborate with development teams, product owners, and business analysts to understand requirements and improve test scripts.
Track, prioritize, and report defects using test management tools, actively participating in defect triage and resolution.
Support release testing, regression suites, and performance testing activities.
Lead automation initiatives, evaluating new tools and scripting techniques to streamline testing processes.
Prepare detailed test reports, dashboards, and analytics for project stakeholders.
Conduct root cause analysis of defects and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings to ensure quality targets are met.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
7+ years of experience in software testing, with proven expertise in automation tools and scripting.
Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, defect management, and software development lifecycle.
Certifications in testing (ISTQB, CSTP, or equivalent) are a plus.
Experience supporting testing in banking or financial services is preferred.
Willing to adapt to evolving testing frameworks, tools, and industry standards.
