Senior VPT Analyst

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

To be successful as a Senior VPT Developer, you should have experience with:

• Expert knowledge of Micro Focus LoadRunner Enterprise, VuGen, Performance Center.
• Hands-on experience with Apache JMeter.
• Proven expertise in Performance Test Planning, Workload Modelling, Execution, Analysis, and Reporting.
• Monitoring and observability platforms such as AppDynamics, Splunk, CloudWatch, Kibana or equivalent tools.
• Experience with CI/CD integration (Jenkins, GitLab).
• Scripting knowledge in either Java, Python, Groovy
• Experience building automation frameworks and reusable performance engineering solutions.
• Understanding of DevOps, and Cloud Engineering principles.
• Lead end-to-end performance engineering activities for critical business applications and services.
• Define and implement performance testing strategies, standards, frameworks, and best practices.
• Mentor and guide performance engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Development, Infrastructure, DevOps, and Product teams to embed performance engineering throughout the SDLC.
• Drive Shift-Left Performance Engineering by enabling teams to identify performance risks earlier in the development lifecycle.
• Experience leading and mentoring performance engineering teams.
• Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
• Design, develop, and execute performance, load, stress, endurance, volume, and scalability tests.
• Build and maintain reusable frameworks using LoadRunner to improve testing efficiency.
• Analyze performance bottlenecks across application, middleware, database, network, and infrastructure layers.
• Provide tuning recommendations to improve response times, throughput, resource utilization, and overall system stability.
• Support capacity planning exercises and forecast infrastructure requirements based on business growth projections.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

• Strong understanding of Scrum, Agile, and Lean principles.
• SAFe or large‑scale Agile exposure.
• Experience working with cross‑functional engineering teams (Dev, QA, Architecture).
• Hands‑on experience with Jira / Agile tooling.
• Strong facilitation, coaching, and conflict‑resolution skills.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across business and technology.
