Senior Developer

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

We are seeking a skilled Senior Developer to design, build, and support enterprise-grade applications and services using modern cloud-native development practices. The role focuses on delivering scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions that support business platforms and tenant onboarding needs.

This role requires strong hands-on experience in Python, BOTO, AWS-SDK, aws architecture and CI/CD practices using Jenkins and gitlab along with the ability to collaborate across development, DevOps, and business teams.

To be successful as a Senior Developer, you should have experience with:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications and services using Python, Boto sdk, CloudFormation service-catalog etc with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Deploy and manage applications on AWS , ensuring smooth environment setup, release coordination, and operational stability.
• Implement and support CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and Jenkins to enable efficient build, test, and deployment processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, design technical solutions, and deliver high-quality software.
• Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, defect resolution, and continuous improvement of development standards and practices.
• Use Jira to track user stories, development tasks, defects, and sprint progress in an Agile delivery environment.
• Support tenant onboarding activities, including configuration, integration, validation, and coordination with stakeholders to ensure successful onboarding.
• Ensure application security, performance, and maintainability by following engineering best practices and organizational standards.
• Prepare technical documentation and provide ongoing support for releases, enhancements, and production issues as needed.

Some of Highly Valued Skills may include:

• Strong experience in development using Python, Boto-sdk, CloudFormation and service catalog.
• Hands-on experience in designing and developing services in AWS .
• Hands on with CI/CD tools and practices, especially GitLab and Jenkins.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery processes and tools such as Jira.
• Experience in tenant onboarding, environment configuration, or integration support is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
