Job Summary

Synechron is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QC Automation Engineer to lead quality assurance initiatives during software development, testing, and product rollout processes. This role involves designing and executing automated test suites, conducting root cause analysis, and ensuring compliance with project standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in test automation, software quality assurance best practices, and effective communication skills to collaborate across teams, delivering reliable and high-quality software solutions.

Software Requirements

Required:

  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, or TestNG.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript for automation development.

  • Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools like JIRA or ALM.

  • Experience in designing, executing, and maintaining regression and functional test suites within Agile projects.

  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies.

  • Knowledge of automation frameworks, continuous integration (CI) tools, and version control systems.

Preferred:

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, TeamCity).

  • Knowledge of API testing tools like Postman, RestAssured, or SoapUI.

  • Familiarity with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) and security testing.

Overall Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for functional, regression, and integration testing.

  • Conduct comprehensive test case analysis and prepare test plans aligned with project requirements.

  • Execute automated and manual test cases, log defects, and track issue resolution progress.

  • Perform root cause analysis of defects, report findings clearly, and recommend process improvements.

  • Collaborate with developers, QA teams, and product owners to ensure quality standards are met.

  • Ensure traceability of test cases and defect reports, and maintain detailed documentation.

  • Advocate for best practices in automation, testing processes, and test coverage.

Performance outcomes:
Deliver consistent, high-quality testing coverage with minimal defects in production, supporting timely releases and product stability.

Technical Skills (By Category)

Programming Languages:

  • Essential: Java, Python, or JavaScript for creating automation scripts

  • Preferred: Other scripting languages like Ruby or Groovy

Testing Frameworks & Tools:

  • Essential: Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, Appium

  • Preferred: REST-assured, Postman, SoapUI, JMeter

Version Control & CI/CD:

  • Strong background in defect management, root cause analysis, and process optimization.

  • Industry experience in finance, healthcare, retail, or similar sectors preferred; relevant track record in large-scale projects.

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts aligned with project requirements.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define testing scope, plan test cases, and automate regression suites.

  • Log, track, and follow up on defects, ensuring clear documentation and resolution.

  • Conduct root cause analysis of failures, providing actionable insights to development teams.

  • Support release testing, environment validation, and regression testing cycles.

  • Continuously review and improve testing frameworks, tools, and processes.

  • Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to align testing activities with project goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • 8+ years of experience in software testing, with a focus on automation and quality assurance.

  • Proven experience with automation tools such as Selenium, TestNG, and scripting languages.

  • Familiarity with Agile development, CI/CD pipelines, and test management practices.

  • Certification in relevant testing tools or QA methodologies is a plus.
