Job Summary

Synechron is seeking a skilled QC Automation Engineer responsible for supporting quality assurance activities throughout the software development lifecycle. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test suites, performing root cause analysis, and ensuring adherence to project standards and best practices. The ideal candidate will contribute to delivering high-quality, reliable software products that meet business and technical requirements by leveraging automation tools and techniques.

Software Requirements

Required:

  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, or TestNG.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript for creating automation scripts.
  • Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA, ALM, or similar systems.
  • Experience in developing and executing regression, functional, and integration tests within Agile projects.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or TeamCity.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), quality standards, and best practices for testing.

Preferred:

  • Experience with API testing tools like Postman, RestAssured, or SoapUI.
  • Knowledge of performance testing tools like JMeter.
  • Familiarity with security testing and compliance standards such as GDPR or HIPAA.
Overall Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for functional, regression, and integration testing.
  • Create comprehensive test plans and test cases based on requirement specifications.
  • Execute automated and manual test cases; log and track defects; ensure resolution and closure.
  • Analyze defect root causes and recommend process improvements to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with QA, development, and product teams to ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices.
  • Maintain traceability of testing activities and document test results, defects, and quality metrics.
  • Advocate for automation best practices and continuous improvement of testing processes.

Performance outcomes:
Timely, accurate, and comprehensive testing coverage leading to high-quality software releases and minimized post-deployment issues.

Technical Skills (By Category)

Programming Languages:

  • Essential: Java, Python, or JavaScript for scripting and automation
  • Preferred: Ruby or Groovy for specific test frameworks

Testing Frameworks & Tools:

  • Essential: Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, Appium
  • Preferred: Postman, RestAssured, SoapUI, JMeter

Version Control & CI/CD:

Experience Requirements

  • Demonstrated success in defect management, root cause analysis, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Industry experience in finance, healthcare, or enterprise sectors preferred; relevant large-scale projects are acceptable.
Day-to-Day Activities
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance automation scripts for UI, API, and regression testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to create comprehensive testing strategies.
  • Execute automated test cases, analyze results, and document defects and issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for failed tests and suggest improvements.
  • Support continuous integration pipelines to facilitate rapid deployment cycles.
  • Monitor application health, troubleshoot test failures, and optimize test execution performance.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups, planning sessions, and sprint reviews.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience supporting automation testing in enterprise environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Selenium, TestNG, JMeter, or equivalent tools.
  • Expertise in scripting languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and test management tools.
  • Relevant certifications in automation tools, testing methodologies, or QA frameworks are a plus.
