Job Title: Senior Platform Engineer
Location: Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore

Roles & responsibilities:
- Collaborate with developers and other engineers to understand needs and translate them into product features.
- Ensure platform stability, security, and performance in all environments.
- Perform root cause analysis for production errors and implement solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Automate the configuration, management, and deployment of infrastructure components.
- Implement tools that make it easier to provision infrastructure, start new environments, and access observability data.
- Maintain and improve the internal developer platform (IDP) to support DevOps workflows.
- Automate health checks, monitoring, and engineer engagement to reduce manual errors and lead to quicker incident detection and resolution. This shift towards automation and observability can significantly improve the efficiency of service restoration.
- Cross-skill the flight deck team to handle various monitoring activities, ensuring a more versatile and capable team. Conduct knowledge transfer sessions to cover critical and non-critical activities.
- Work with engineers to identify opportunities for alert optimization, reducing noise (false positives) and manual work, leading to faster incident detection and improved efficiency with more accurate alerts.
- Focus on proactive issue management to detect and address potential problems before they impact customers. Contribute to post-mortems for continuous improvement opportunities.
- Drive faster service restoration through tooling uplift. Onboard Senior Incident Commanders to manage complex major incidents and reduce customer impact.
- Build automated communications through enhanced tooling and AI integration. Create scalability for long-running complex incidents and reduce single points of failure.
Essential skills:
- 8 to 10 years of proven experience as a Platform Engineer or similar role.
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Observe, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Experience with security best practices and compliance standards.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology.
