Design, build, operate, and optimize globally available distributed data ingestion and processing systems for Twilio Segment. Design, build, and operate high-scale data routing, ingestion, and processing systems for Twilio Segment. Improve reliability, troubleshoot production issues, and refine operational tooling while delivering customer-focused features through modern CI/CD practices.

Leads technical direction and architecture for Twilio Flex’s high-scale TaskRouter backend services. Designs distributed systems, APIs, data architectures, and migration strategies; improves scalability, resilience, availability, observability, and operational excellence. Partners across engineering and product, influences roadmaps, leads design and code reviews, mentors engineers, and supports incident response. Requires extensive backend development experience, AWS expertise, distributed systems knowledge, and experience with databases and CI/CD.

Prototype and deploy AI and LLM solutions for data-processing challenges while mentoring teams and driving technical alignment across geographically distributed engineering organizations.

Provides 24/7 technical support to top-tier customers, troubleshooting REST APIs, cloud solutions, connectivity, and communications platforms. Collaborates with developers, architects, partners, Technical Account Managers, Product, and Engineering teams to resolve complex issues, prioritize urgent tickets, meet short SLAs, and report reproducible bugs. The role requires shift and possible weekend or holiday coverage, strong customer communication, workflow optimization, and occasional travel for in-person meetings.
